The young vampire shifted in D’s arms. His pale hair fell across D’s shoulder, forming strands of amethyst and obsidian as it tangled with D’s own night-black hair. “Cain,” the young one muttered in his sleep, arms tightening around D’s chest, then he quieted once more.<\/p>\n

“Stay a while,” Shido said later, leaning back in his chair, amber eyes half-lidded behind sunglasses. “Hunt the Nightbreeds with me. We have a lot in common.”<\/p>\n

“Who is Cain?” D asked. It was curiosity, nothing more.<\/p>\n

Shido didn’t answer.<\/p>\n
