Kaiba looks down on the boy, wide-eyed and soft-hearted and foolishly naive. I hate him, he thinks. Some day I’ll beat him.<\/p>\n

Yugi looks up at the boy, haughty and stiff and grim, eyes as blue and cold as those of his favorite dragon. I like him, he thinks. I wish he weren’t so afraid.<\/p>\n

I hate it when he looks at me like that, Kaiba thinks. I don’t need his pity.<\/p>\n

I hate it when he looks at me like that, Yugi thinks. I only want to be his friend.<\/p>\n

Kaiba frowns. “Well, are you coming?”<\/p>\n
