I took Spot to the vet this morning. I noted a couple of days ago that he was acting weird when I got home from work on Wednesday; he seemed to be better after that, but still wasn’t acting right. He doesn’t seem able to jump; he sort of climbs up the back of the couch or the side of the bed instead of jumping up onto them. I don’t think I’ve seen him run. He goes outside in the morning and evening as usual, but just sits on the porch and doesn’t wander. So I decided I’d better take him in and see what’s going on.

The vets called a little while ago to get permission for x-rays. She said he seemed a little constipated. I had also noticed that his abdomen seemed a bit hard when I rubbed his belly. I wonder if he has some sort of intestinal blockage? Well, that’s what the x-rays are for. I hope it’s something treatable and that he’ll be better soon. I love that cat so much. I would give the same level of care to any of my furry or fishy kids, but Spot is my special baby and it would devastate me if something bad happened to him.

Anyway. Yesterday was fun-ish. I had lunch at Mom’s, and then we went into town to do a few errands and then go to the Gem & Mineral show. There was lots of cool stuff there. I bought a beautiful pyrite cube for $10. Mom bought some presents for Renie and Mary, Bill’s wife. I was still feeling a bit tetchy, but we had a good time. We also drove to Meadowbrook Park to scope out the bathrooms and see if there was a water fountain, which there was, so I’ll be able to make bathroom/water stops there when I’m running. Mom said she missed walking in the park, so she’s going to drive down there tomorrow and walk the path with me while I run.

Fourteen miles tomorrow! I feel kind of tired and icky today, didn’t sleep at all well last night, and of course am now worried about Spot, but I hope that means I’ll be able to go to bed early tonight and sleep well, so I can get up early and have a good run.
